Soccer Cheerleaders in Town
The brilliant history of Chivas of Guadalajara is full of unforgettable moments, successes with joys and triumphs. Las Chivas and their fierce rivals, Club America, are the most successful teams in the Mexican League, having won 11 titles each.
Era of Greatness
In 1957, guided by the legendary forward Salvador “Chava” Reyes, the club lifted the trophy for the first time and an era of greatness began. The Club won four championships in a row: 1958 -59, 1959-60, 1960 -61, and 1961 – 1962; so far, no other team has accomplished this. Las Chivas dominated the Mexican League during1957 and 1970 taking 8 titles in 13 years.
1971 to 2014
Unfortunately for the club and their fans, the great era ended in 1970. After the 1970 title, Las Chivas struggled for many years, 16 year passed by before they won another title. In fact, in the last 44 years, the club has won only 3 titles: 1986 -87, summer 1997 and Apertura 2006. Although Chivas have always been a very competitive team, every season gets more difficult to win a title in the MX league, and their brilliant history seems to opaque more every season that passes without a winning a championship.
The club’s main problem, or the owner’s main problem is that there is no patience, they do not allow sufficient time for a project to produce positive results. Las Chivas went through 14 coaches since they won their last title in 2006, an average of two per year. sources from lodi777slot This is not the way to glory.
In the last few years, Las Chivas have been criticized by the press and fans for the negative results and the decisions taken by the club owner, Jorge Vergara. The criticism from their fans is understandable, they demand more titles, after all their team is still the most successful in the league, but they are in need of triumph.

Although Chivas started the new tournament Apertura 2014 with a win and a tie, 4 points out of 6, and the fans hopes for glory are high yet again, their situation is complicated. The club are now in the 15 place in the relegation table. Another negative season could put in danger the permanence in the first division of the most popular team in Mexico.
Nothing lasts forever, there are always changes. Perhaps we have seen the best of Chivas and their greatness will remain in the past, yet anything is possible. It is unlikely that they will lift the trophy in the near future but not impossible, but when they do get the gold, another era of greatness could begin.
